Oral Surgery

All oral surgery (e.g. removal of wisdom teeth, root tip resection, correction of displaced teeth, optimisation of prosthesis placement) can be carried out ambulant or, upon request, under general anaesthesia or under analgosedation. Insufficient bone is built up in well-tolerated way using Piezo surgery, an extremely well-tolerated, minimally invasive and secure therapy. Substitute materials are either your own bone material or an artificial synthetic substitute material (proven and used for years all over the world).

Minimally invasive sinus lifting: Where there are several teeth missing the maxillary sinus is very much extended and the alveolar crest is very low. To create more space for the implants, “keyhole surgery” makes it possible to lift the mucous membrane of the maxillary sinus and to use implant bone substitute material in the newly created hollow space. This surgical technique and the instruments were developed by Dr. Wainwright in cooperation with Dr. Kurrek (Ratingen), Dr. Dr. Trödhan (Vienna) and the company Satelec.

Bone splitting: Bone splitting is a surgical procedure to split bones longitudinally, to spread them, to fill the hollow space with substitute material or bone and thus to widen them. In many cases implants can be placed in the same session.

Bone spreading: During bone spreading, the bone is slowly spread using special instruments and the jaw is widened.

Bone block transplantation: In some cases with particularly marked bone deficits, reconstruction with substitute material only is impossible. In such cases, a bone block (usually taken from the area of the former wisdom teeth) and transplanted to the affected area. The bone block then grows together with the underlying bone and after a healing time of about 3-4 months, implants can be placed in the reconstructed jaw. The area, from which the bone block was removed, regenerates by itself without problems.

Soft tissue surgery: In order to give to implants a long life expectancy, it is often necessary to optimise the mucous membranes around the implants. In these cases so-called connective or soft tissue transplants are transplanted to the respective area (usually taken from the palate). These operations are done in microsurgical, minimally invasive procedures.
